Grizzly G0704 with some engine running problems
This is basically the G0704 from Grizzly or also known as the BF20 from Optimum. There are many other clones out there but these two ones are the ones most people refer to. Anyhow, I did the brake-in procedure like recommended in the Grizzly manual and milled two small brackets for the DRO I would like to install.

Need Help! New Grizzly BF20V and BF20LV
Just like hoss said, the G0704 is the long table version of the machine. It is the same travel within an eigth or so of all the other LV type machines. Grizzly just used their own model number scheme. The short table looks like some kind of early marketing sample. The two you picked up don't have the Grizzly production numbering.

Which mill Grizzly v. Baileigh?
Reviews are tough to find on either mill. The Baileigh is gear driven and it is easier (I think) to change speeds. The Grizz is V-belt. The Baileigh speeds go from 70-1500 rpm. The Grizz 230-2550 rpm. Both are from Taiwan, both weigh about 750 lbs. The big difference is that the Grizzly has a knee and therefore the Z-axis.

Vise for Grizzly G0704
The G0704 table is 2" narrower at 7 1/16". The 6" Kurt is 16" deep so less than half the vise is going to be on the table. The hold down bolts are 5.5" from the front of the vise. The 4" Kurt is 12.3" deep and the hold down slots are 4.8" from the front of the vise. Also a 6" vise is tall and takes up valuable Z-axis travel.

The machine (Grizzly G0704 Drill Mill with Stand) looks fine. and is reasonably accurate when it works. Eventually the motor will stop rotating. After checking all the basic possibilities I.E. fuses, connections, speed control potentometer I replaced the motor. This did not fix the problem. I called Grizzly service and they were no help.

Re: G0704 Tapered Bearing Upgrade. Bearing heat is normal, and in fact, they should build heat as that increases viscosity of your lubricant and helps to spread it evenly in the bearings. I've run my G0704 spindle as fast at 8,000 rpm. It gets warm, in fact, it probably gets too hot to really hold on to.

Re: G0704 Tramming. I think there is many ways to tram this import machines. They method that worked for me was to use a cylindrical square standing on the table with indicator mounted n spindle. Move the head up and down and measure if the column is tilted front to back or side to side.

G0704 Tapered Bearing Upgrade
The G0704 spindle fit is fairly loose to the bearings, IMO. They are press, but only just so. I generally use a brass punch and a ball peen hammer to take races on and off. It's about a 20 minute rebuild process these days. Getting the preload right is the tricky part, and just a few degrees on the nut makes a big difference.

I see the G0704 has a big fan club, but I want to get a mill that I won't want to upgrade in a year or so. For a little more money (really the same money if you add the power feed to the G0704) the G0754 is bigger with power feed but it has a round column, then a little more money the G0755 has power feed and the dovetail column.
